What to say, what to say???? There really isn't much to say. My weekend was kind of mundane and boring actually. As you can probably guess, we worked on the house some more. Friday night, some people from church got together and we played volleyball. We did all have a really great time. The kids had fun too. Everyone was so patient with the kids and it was not competitive at all. That's the kind of volleyball that I like to play. After a while, we adjurned to the fellowship hall to play Pit, a card game. I haven't played in forever. I forgot how much fun it is. It was Steve's first time, so now he is looking for it. It's a great group card game.
Saturday, a friend of Steve's was having a yard sale because he is moving. We went and met some friends of ours over there and then spent the rest of the morning yard sale hopping with them. Everyone was quite hungry, so we went and grabbed a bite to eat. Steve had to go set up the fireworks stand that he will be working at, so he went to work and the kids and I got cleaned up and I finished my Children's Church lesson.
We have been doing a character study on Moses. We made houses from wood and made a little Egypt and have been destroying it with the plagues. Uncooked rice for the hail, little frogs, goldfish crackers for the dead fish after the water was turned to blood, we blew bubbles and the kids tried to catch them on their skin without popping them for the boils, etc... I have really enjoyed the lessons and pray the kids have learned something. Yesterday, we put red marker on the door posts of their homes representing the blood and had a little smoke machine that blew through the land as the first born in the other homes were dying. We then talked about the blood being applied to our heart and Jesus being that perfect lamb that was sacrificed for us. The kids were very responsive, yeah!!!!
After writing about it, I guess my weekend wasn't too bad. Hmmm? Funny thing. Much to do. Gotta run!
