HERE COMES PETER COTTONTAIL

Alright, so we got some rabbit and I cooked it yesterday. Threw that baby in the crockpot and let her cook all day and we ate after Brandon's practice last night. It was really good. I wasn't quite sure what the kids would think. They have never had rabbit. Callie liked it and called it chicken. I was not about to correct her. You never know what Callie will do with all of her drama. Courtney was all shook up most of the evening and said that she wasn't going to eat it. She was a little distraught about eating a cute, furry, little bunny. That is what was for dinner, so that is what she ate. SHE LIKED IT! Everyone really enjoyed it and I forgot how much I liked it. I haven't made it since Brandon was a little guy.
I am finally feeling better. Praise the Lord and thank you for all of the prayers. I am going to need my strength for this weekend.
We are gearing up for this weekend. Tonight, Steve's Purple Pounders play the Bradley Bears, one of the local teams here in Cleveland. For those of you who do not know, Steve's school is in Chattanooga. We will more than likely get beat. Our starting qb is out with a fractured collar bone and our starting running back is out with a hand injury. Brandon is ball boy again this year. Saturday, Steve is in class all day, which will free the kids and I up to get some stuff done around the house, and then we may get some of the young people together toward the evening after Steve gets out of class. Sunday, there's a fellowship dinner at the church and then into the week. Whew!!!

SICK A BEIN' SICK

Steve came home from Family Retreat with a cold. Being the sweetie that he is, he decided to share it with me. What a peach!!! Needless to say, I have been sick for the last week and it doesn't seem to be getting much better. Steve's sister, Angie, called last night and when I answered the phone, she thought I was Steve. People think my voice is fairly low anyhow, but when I'm sick, I can really give Barry White a run for his money.
Brandon had practice last night and got his position. He is starting Tight End and starting Defensive End. Those are the positions that he wanted, so I am very happy for him. He won't see a lot of action, because they really don't throw the ball a lot at this age. The first game is Monday, and we are all pretty excited for that.
Not much else going on, so please pray for me that this cold disipates like.....NOW! You know, when you're an at-home mom, you don't really get to take a day off of work to recuperate. I have a pile of laundry on my bed, calling my name

MORE FAMILY RETREAT PICS

Flag football
Autumn playing the "ball game"
me and Andrea Yohe, she is a sweetie

Here are some more pics from Family Retreat. I'm sorry if I have bored you, but some pictures just had to be put on the blog, ya know what I mean? I didn't think there was anyone left who hadn't ever played or seen the ball game before, but much to our enjoyment, there were. It was so great. We were able to get Autum, Sister Campbell, Sister Tammy Fox and Autumn's mom. Autumn actually grabbed Bro. Yohe's head. Too funny!
I don't know what the name of this last game was. I've played before, but no one ever says what it's called. Everyone sits in a circle and you ask a question, if your answer to that question is "yes", you move to the seat to your right regardless if someone else is sitting there or not. I think this is the biggest we got, 7 people in one "chair". Ha, it was great!
Well, I hope everyone has a great weekend and you enjoy the pictures.

TN FAMILY RETREAT PART II

Brandon and Bro. Carter wore the same shirt. Had to get a picture
Chelsei Henderson, Morgan Fox, and Brandon Shaw
Callie, ready to fight fire
Courtney tossing M&M's to Jonna Wilson
Jonna Wilson
Here are just some pictures from Family Retreat. The first night was great. Brandon and Bro. Carter came out for dinner and low and behold...they were wearing the same shirt. Brandon kind of got a kick out of that.
During fun time the next day. They played a little game where you toss the M&M's. Courtney and Jonna Wilson did a GREAT job. I believe Courtney said they came in first. All I know is that Jonna was a long way from Courtney and she was catching those M&M's like nobody's business. They made a really good team. There was some flag football also. I'll post pictures of that later.
During Callie's class, they talked about rescue missions. They made little firemen outfits. How cute are they?
More to come later, I gotta go

TN FAMILY RETREAT

Steve and Brandon

What an absolutely, refreshing, uplifting, amazing, awesome Family Retreat the state of Tennesse had. We met this past weekend up near Pigeon Forge, TN and had our first ever Family Retreat. It was so amazing. The Spirit of the Lord could be felt from the very moment we began. There was a sense of unity and love that prevailed throughout the entire weekend. The theme for the weekend was, "Without the test, there would be no testimony" The TAP groups were wonderful. The services were amazing. The fellowship was refreshing. I, along with others, left the camp with a longing to stay.

D.J. surprised us all on the last night, Saturday, by joining The Church. Praise The Lord!!!!!
Steve and I were thrilled and shocked all at the same time. I had to share these pictures with you. Tim came with D.J. and that was truly a blessing.

I will post more pictures of camp later, because I really need to get going. I hope you all enjoy these pictures and the pictures encourage you.

BUH BYE

Well, I really must say that there is just too much to be done in order for me to take the time to blog. I have to get my Children's Church lesson ready for Sunday. I was thinking about talking about Jeremiah, but my helper talked about that last Sunday. God must have wanted that lesson. I love to see Him work that way. I have an idea, we'll give it a go. I can't say what it is just yet though.
I also have to get this house ready for our Assembly guests. Steve is working frantically. He's trying to get as much done as he can in the evenings after work. The kids don't start back 'til the 12th of August, but yesterday was his first day back at work. He got the downstairs family room textured last night. The kids and I are on the way to the store to pick up some paint brushes and begin painting. Much has to be done before my guests arrive, so I really need to spend all of my efforts on this house.
We pray for safe travel for all those who will be coming to the Assembly, missing those who cannot come, and praying for a mighty move of the Lord as we press toward the mark.
We can't wait to see you all. I will post after the Assembly sometime.
